here's the error message I got

192,168,1,101,4,149 , first 4 number is my internal IP address. but what are the last 2 number?

what ftp program u running? I use guildftp and bulletproof and I get people on mine all day long....I also use a freeware program called no-ip to mask my IP address as a name because every once in a blue moon the company changes it and no-ip automatically checks to see if its changed daily.

i m using the one that comes with window 2k advance server.

Heres how I setup my ftp server.

I open IIS, config the " Default FTP Site".

acutally, IP is not a problem. since I m using cable modem, my IP address is static.

I can connect my ftp server, just couldn't see anything there.

    thanx for your help...

ya know I also wonder if you have set up your folder to be available through that IIS as well...thats why i dont mess with that. and i'm assuming its probably port 21 as thats what all the defaults are but depending on your ISP provider some dont like you running ftps and you might want to try a higher port to offset them from seeing why theres so much traffic on that one as everybody uses it
