    I NEED your guys help.

    Here is the system info.

    NEW - A7V266-vm
    256meg PC2100
    PCI Rage card
230w power supply (worked fine with my A7V8X board)
    NEW 15g Maxtor harddrive

I am trying to install windows Xp. Everything is fine until it gets to the screen where yyou are to pick Repair, install from CD, ect.
It shows that screen for about 1 second if that, and then automatically shutodwns, REAL QUICK. I even had my wife sit thre and hit enter as soon as that screen pops up.

The Mobo and Harddrive are brand new and out of the box today.

Anybody have any ideas why this is happening. It acts like it is going to load XP and then jsut BOOM it shuts down.

I have never had this happen. Can you help me out? ????!?!?

recheck all your connections...specifically the CD drive and the ram

and check the CD to make sure it's not damaged
I've gone too far and need to move on!

Ya 230w PSU may've been fine for a while but is likely feelin' the strain now after all this time of bein' pushed beyond its limit.

Those are the standard trouble shooting things. They were both the 1st things I was gonna check here in a minute. In fact I pulled all the PSI cnonectors off devices I did Then besides switching disks, I was going the drives which it was loading from.
Then I was going to put the 300w back in there and see what happens.
I was hoping for some suggestions after that.

Anyway, I will go trie those, then get back with ya,
