Where is Microsoft ? I have tried for the last hour to connect to Microsoft.com. I have tried every microsoft page I can think of , even MSNBC but no luck. Has someone shut them down? I started at 1 am and it's now 2 am. It seems their whole system is shut down

Microsoft's main campus is in Redmond, WA if that is what you are asking

used to drive by there every morning on the way to work... :barf:

anyway, everything has to go down for maintaince at some point...just try back in a few hours

but like it has been said, I can access the sites too...so maybe it's your ISP that is having problems
I've gone too far and need to move on!

microsoft is not having any probs on my pc.
go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and look for a file names HOSTS.
open it with notepad and look for any entering mentioning microsoft.com, then delete that, save the file and try again.
also see that yo are not making any typographical errors.

I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried www.microsoft.com, www.msnbc.com, www.msn.com, tried windows media player, windows update. and tried all the links in the e-mail I get from Microsoft, and I get at least 5 e-mails a day from Microsoft. So I know even if I might of mistyped the links in their E-mails would work even if one or two out of 15 were bad. So I know there is a problem somewhere. I can go to any other site on the web but not to Microsoft. I checked with Roadrunner and was told everything is working on their end, but had no way of knowing if there was a problem on Microsoft's end.

did you check the HOSTS file?
also check that your firewall (if you have one) is not blocking M$.

Changed over to the Windows XP machine, same problem. I know now there must be a server down somewhere between where I live in MN and Microsoft. At least I know that the Windows ME machine is just fine. So I guess I will have to wait. Thanks for your help everyone. And yes I checked the host file on the ME machine. Thanks
