My windows update is fryied. When trying to update, it stops at "Preparing to download" after clicking the Install button and the license agreement. I have tryied deleting the windows update folder, clearing my history and temp, and the KB told me nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? IE6 SP1 with all the security updates (manually done) on XP Pro. Ive tried usin mozilla but it obviously wouldnt let me.

    OK I found this

    Try this...

Go to the Windows Update site as you usually do. When you get there, copy the address that appears in the browser's address bar.

Click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.

Click on the Security tab. Click on the Trusted Sites icon and then click on the Sites button.

In the Trusted Sites dialog box, paste the address into the Add this Web site to the zone text box. Remove the checkmark from the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone checkbox. Click the Add button.

    _Click OK.

    Click OK again.
