i do have a real firewall, it did prevent all this for my network, i am just saying this so all the people who dont have a real firewall can safely get on the web and get patched.

Exactly. Otherwise it's like cleaning up from a leak in a pipe, without fixing the pipe first. ;) Oooooh, an analogy!

but if the pipe has run out of water then its alright to clean up first, or if the water company has turned it off for ya. but yer not sposed to touch the pipes, plumbers are sposed to do it, so i am callin the plumber and tellin him that you are playin with the pipes. and that last bit isnt sposed to be an analogy, its just too sick to think about, and i'd hate to think of what the plumber would do if that were the case, ewwwww.

I don't get it why i haven't gotten it yet (not that i want it). Is it maybe because of my norton firewall?...i don't even have virus scans or patches...

any firewall could have blocked it, so that's why you didn't get it :)

This might shock you all but I don't run a firewall at all. Not even the basic XP one. Instead I check Windows Update every 2nd day and always update with all the patches. I also run a full scan of The Cleaner (for Trojans) and Nortons 2003 every few days too.

I've had 1 virus in 2 years, and never had this sort of strange behaviour.
