    amd_man2003, that is their shortcoming not yours. Didn't take this old dog long to realize you young fellows have a lot of knowledge to share about these PCs.
    I've learned quite a bit from some of the younger folks in this forum and I learn more from them all the time.

    All you can do is provide the information, if they choose not to use it, then be ready with a chuckle and an "I told you so.":thumb:

    I use AVG, but id never heard of this Syagte Firewall, Ill have too look into it

    I love my hardware firewall. Can't be bothered with confiiguring the software kind and they all seem to be a bit buggy with some apps.

    My router logs are showing tons of attempted accesses to port 135 from places like NY University and Corportations in New Jersey.... go figure.

    Then, I did patch up early and heeded the warnings that have been out for weeks on this MS flaw. I also frequent McAfee's user forums which has a wealth of information from several IT professionals and McAfee's tech support people.

    It all helps.

    I was up until all hours helping folks that got hit last night... what a mess!!!

    ive got black ice but its a pain in the arse.
    its always "this is doin something and that wants to connect with them" but at least i use the built in f/w

    Hi,

    One of the PC's on my home network has MS blast. Last night someof you might have read, my pc stopped booting can MSBlast cause this?

    ive got a computer that got the worm while i was away on vacation. i need to fix it and i simply just cant re-install the operating system. it has some very important files on it that i need to retrieve on that hard drive. so how do i get rid of this worm without uninstalling and reinstalling?
