we try to install updates and we get this message.
    (see pic.)

im helping my cousin install some updates on his laptop and we keep getting that screen. he has win xp home which came with his laptop. its NOT a bootleg version. the updates that we need to install show up on the left hand column and after we pick the updates to install it shows us what u see in that picture.

    whats going wrong? any suggestions?

    thanx, Tom

there can be three reasons...either u r not running windows update as an administrator or the updates have not been lined up properly to be installed in older to latest order or your windows update settings are corrupted.

for 1st thing you know what to do...for second thing install two to three updates at a time with older ones before the new ones and for third one follow PI's guide to get windows update on track.
