my system is a amd system (specs below) since intalling windows 2000 just 3 days ago, i was relly happy to see it running. But then, yesterrday after posting and BIOS finished running, WIndow 2000 getes to the loading sceen.

... but hte loading sceen stayst there (tje black and white loading sceen on the first part, not the clourful windows loading startup)./

waited for 3 hrs, still nothing, 5 hrs, nothing still.

restarted computer, this time try to press f8 to tryto get to safe moe, but no succes, cant even get to the safe mode thing.

It seems like if windows just crashes on me after BIOS every time.

so, now, today, i formatted HD. this time even worst. after installeing my drivers (like 1 gb of it). my comp froze. restart computer.

i donno why is casuing this. does anyone have this thing going on with there SATA HD>?>? and windows 2000?

Sorry, I don't have any good W2K experience.

But, you installed a GIGABYTE of drivers?
Did you ever consider rebooting at anytime during this marathon installation process??

Various flavors of Windows to require an opportunity to create and initialize some files/registry entries.

I'm thinking along the lines of - slow down a bit there partner. How you gonn'a know which portion of the process went south on you?
Take it 1 step at a time.

a Gig of drivers? those Creative patches just keep getting bigger and bigger :(

    What were you drinking ??

I suggest you get hold of Win 2000 SP4, put it on a CD, then reformat your drive.

Then install Win 2000 and before you do anything else load SP4,

Then if you have any programs that need driver support, go get them and install them.
