I have scanned recently. I did find a couple of viruses and they were cleaned/deleted. I dont remember the name but maybe something like "proza.big"

I was hit prety hard 3 weeks ago and ended up "fdisking" and reinstalling XP

you did a format & install 3 weeks ago due to a virus(s) and you already have a couple viruses? You may want to take a hard look at the way you are using your computer or at least your computer's security.

No ofense, but I would think that anyone messing around with rededit would know a little more about keeping their computer clean.

sorry to hijack the thread, carry on...

you might be missing a few key files b'cos of which regedit is unable to work properly.

I agree with the virus possibility. I've seen a lot of viruses that won't allow regedit, regedt32, msconfig, sometimes even cmd or command..

if you know the virus that was on you computer look for a standalone cleaner for that specific virus it will do a better job than just your antivirus at getting rid of whatever the virus did.
