Hi, I jsut got through formating and installing XP Home Edition on my new Maxtor 60GB drive. The only realy problem I'm having is that I cant d/l and update Direct X to 9.0b. To get Direct X 9, I had to pull it off of the Splinter Cell CD. Everytime I try to d/l it, the, 293KB d/l completes, but when I get to the 7.9mb D/l, the window closes and it says "Direct X 9.0b could not install...". What's going on? Ever heard of this before and are there any quick fixes? Thx, : peace2: Mista K6

i don't have a fix to that but can you get Directx9.0b redistributable ?
it is a 32.61MB download. the problem you are facing is most probably a server related issue as you shd not face any problems at the time of download.

many thx mate, worked like a charm :D . Just wondering, I unzipped it to my temp folder, and then opened the setup from there. Can I delete the other files it unzipped to my temp folder now that I've installed? Thx again, : peace2: Mista K6
