    First of all, turn off the 'Link' toolbar in IE if it's on. Then you open up the Favourites menu in IE, just right click on the Link folder icon and delete. If it is being used somewhere, it will re-create itself, so you gotta make sure you diable everything that uses it (usually just IE).

    you can also open up the favorites folder and just 'hide' the folder. It's still there, it just doesn't show up on the menu.
    I've gone too far and need to move on!
