Thread: reinstalling My Network Places....

    I think My Netwrok Places is screwed up and wont let me create a network. How do i go about reinstalling just that only. The Windows ME disc wants to reinstall the OS. any ideas? thanks

    i dont think you really can just reinstall your network places...what kinda network you trying to set up here and can you even open it up...

    it's 'neighborhood' on win9x and 'places' on NT based, also from the sounds of it winME is also 'places'


    rubberman, why don't you be more specific about what you are trying to do. My Netwrok Places basically just give you a gui to browse the local networks, it doesn't actually set them up.
    I've gone too far and need to move on!

    welll, what ever your doing right click on "my network places", then new connection, and you should be able to take it from there...dont know if thats what your looking for but it might help

    i want to enable file/printer sharing on my home network. I want to printfrom my wireless laptop. The printer is connected to my desktop that that uses ME.

    Go into the control pannel, then click on the network icon you should see somthing like this click on file and print sharing and check thier respective boxes.
