    Just reformated and I'm looking for a way to rid of those damn unwanted shell extensions you get when you right click on files. Can't seem to find anything on the web. THX!!!

    the quickest and easiest way to do it would be to download TweakUI, it has an option to remove/add whatever you want.

    although i think PI also says how to do it manually in his XP tweak guides
    I've gone too far and need to move on!

    OK. Did as the guide suggested all but one thing..... I didnt back up the registry before deleting the entries and I deleted one that I should not have. My system is perfect right now other than this so I just want to get this back. The entry I deleted was for the new folder extension. Because I deleted this entry I cant make new folders at all!!! Please help!!!

    this is why backups are so important before you go screwing around...

    anyway, find another similar XP system, export the file and import it into your registry. Of course you need to get permission from the owner before you go digging in their registry.
    I've gone too far and need to move on!
