After reinstalling Windows XP after a hard drive falure windows is now showing that I have a drive E removable disk drive. The bios setup only shows one Hard Drive a drive C and drive D which is a DVD Rom drive.
Even Sisoft Sandra shows a removable drive E. Can anyone tell me where it came from and how to get rid of it. When I click on My Computer it only showes the Hard Drive which is C and the DVD Burner as drive D.
Im having trouble running Drive Image. It wont show any harde drives on the system.

No I dont have USB a flash memory sstick plugged in but my device manager shows a PhotoSmart printer card reader ( HPH09) under disk drives. I dont think that would do anything.

The reason that I am asking is that I installed Power Quest Drive Image 7 and it show any hard drives to back up.

have you tried going in disk management and looking at what is going in there? whether you can remove that drive from there or not. where else is this drive showing up? just in Drive Image?
