    Hi,

I am about to upgrade my pc from a Epox 8k3a+, athlon 2100 xp etc to a msi neo fisr, athlon 64 3ghz and wondered if i had to reinstall winxp and all my programs on my hard drive - or will it just detect the change and carry on okay.

    Thanks in advance

    Matt

    Yeah you have to reinstall.

    Btw, do you mean the Athlon64 3000+? As there's no 3Ghz Athlon64

it's not difficult to activate windows, and if it has been done too many time a free and quick call to Microsoft will fix the problem.
I've gone too far and need to move on!

you have to pay for a copy of windows, which pays for your license to use the OS. activating windows, no matter how many times, is free as long as it is legit. I have activated my own copy of XP no less than 20 times, whether or not i had to call microsoft or not, i've never had a problem.
