We have been trying to identify a cause of an issue. We are having several PC's that when a user goes to right click on an icon it goes off into never never land for 10-20 seconds. Then the right click menu comes up. We are connected to a Novell network, and it appears that if you auth to just the workstation without network connection the issue is greatly reduced or gone. Novell has no clue; we have checked DFS & Mup nothing weird on either. Did the normal name space tweak, didn't help..... Everything we have tried doesn't help.

Has anyone seen this before or have any insight on how to fix this. Thank you in advance - Shalamar

it might be that novell is trying to access the server to see if you can right click or not. i know that it allows stuff like that to be restricted. im not really sure though

    Hi,
I have the same problem on my XP machine and we are using Active Directory for authentication. I used to have this problem about half a year ago, and it annoyed me no end until it miraculously disappeared, now it is back. I am now trawling the web to see if anyone has found a solution, but it has been without results so far.

If you do find a solution please let us know.
