    Hi all
I've read the Tweaking guides but i can't find what i need.

I want to install an app on XP but it thinks XP is NT 4 and requires service pack 4 to be applied. I had the same problem with windows 2000 until service pack 4 came out.

What i want to do is trick the install to think XP is on service pack 4 and not 1 then it will install. Then i can set it back afterwards.

Does anyone know where Windows XP keeps this info?
I'm guessing registry and i've tried changing HKLM\Software\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\CSIVersion to Service pack 4

    This made no difference.

Any help would be really really aprichated.

    Thank you

Have you checked for a patch for the app? You don't say what the app is.

yes i've check for a patch and there is a new version but i have to use the old version.

Its actually an activX control for Vb which i bought and i don't want to buy the new version as its too much money.

Its really important that i can get it to work as otherwise i will have to relaod my machine with a new OS.

    Cheers
