    Default Missing Hard Drive space

Im having a problem with my XP Pro install. I have windows installed on a 11gb partition, but my windows folder is 7gb in size when i select the fodler properties. however, when i select all the files, it says there are 1.27gb of files. so i want to know what is taking up the other 4.7gb. any ideas?

It should just be hidden files. Go to Control Panel\Folder Options and set it so hidden files and hidden OS files are shown and then try again.

already tried that. its not hidden files. also, its a recent install of windows so i doubt that it takes 7gb to install xp.

    Try SequiaView from my signature.
    Also, do you use Norton?
