    Default IRQ problem

ok after reading some guides and reading up on forums, i have gathered that the sound card and video card being on the same IRQ is a bad thing.. Well.. they are both on 19. I read somewhere that disabling the com's will do it (that is if you don't use them.. and i don't). How would i go about doing this?

First off, what OS are you using. The sharing of IRQ addresses was only an issue in the Win9x operating system. In an NT environment you'll find that it assigns numerous devices to the same IRQ but it is highly unlikely you'll have any issues as the OS handles the hardware very well.

Think of that old adage... If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Here is a screenshot of my IRQ assignments under WinXP Pro.

There are no conflicts so there is no need to worry. Unless you're experiencing problems, leave it alone.
