Default Installation of Win Xp Over 15 hours !!!

Ok guys here is a good one, I've had several problems with my system over the last few weeks and I decided to format my hard drive and start new. At 9:00 PM last night I began the install of windows. Would you believe that it's been over 16 hours and the #$@#$#^% is still loading. HELP, can anyone tell me it they have heard of this type of crap with a computer and point me in the direction of what is going on. I'm not sure if it's a processor, memory or motherboard problem.
I've ran a 3 day memory check and a processor check with software and both said it was ok.

    HELP ! XP

Can't tell you anything without specs... Knowing your motherboard, hard drive, power supply, any overclocking done, idle temperature, and CD-Drive, on top of the CPU and RAM as flunders said, would be helpful.

Hey Guys, my problem was that I disabled the computers casch to test memory and forgot to reset it before I installed windows.
And I also found out that the orig. problem was bad ram which tested ok in the memory check.
Thanks for all you guys help
