    When I refer to a rogue USB device, I am simply stating there is a native driver conflict of a USB device during the installation; not that the device is faulty. Sorry if my terms caused confusion.

    No bad on this end, nothing to apologize for. You're just so darned technical and me being a product of the public schools system, was wrong in my reply.

    It's just that I seem to have been in a spell where I'm seeing several instances of a USB device halting XP installs and it kinda ticks me off that Microsoft hasn't seen fit to address it, at least I haven't been able to find any KBs about it.

    With the proliferation of so many USB keyboards and mouses, this has to be an issue
