And that, good sir is just the type of thing that has motivated me to attempt to become proficient with open source OS's.

But unfortuantly, most ppl cant go fully to linux becus they need to use ms software, like me :( i need to use office 2000 for my school work (as i have no printer so have to take work to school IT dept. lol), and also im an avid games player...no linux distro offers the compatibility and performance of windows games wise. (but then again windows XP = compatibility = slim chance lol)

I try not to let Windows do anything I don't want it to do. Making it do things it doesn't want to do is fun too.:)

Shepps....get star office and you can do all that stuff...otherwise just use a windows partition for that **** and use linux for everything else........you can pass stuff between partitions in linux just like it was another drive.....

I've gone totally linux except for the digital camera only......and I use office stuff ALL the time for work...

The first thing I want my system to transmit to M$ is that I am not, nor do I ever intend running Windows XP:D

Put that in your "collects no personal data" database and smoke it:thumb:
