Question Trying to refomat hard drive

I am reformating my hard drive because of several problems accuring on my Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop. I went to and got detailed instructions on how to reformat my hard drive. But after I press the enter key when Load IDE CD-Rom driver is highlighted I get The following file is missing or corrupted:CD\WINDOWS\COMMAND
Type the name of the Command Interpreter (e.g., C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM)
what do I do???? Anyone know what I can do to fix this????

Either your CD or CDROM is faulty, or your lappy has a more serious prob (dust buildup likely being 1).
