    Default re-appearing icons

    Can anyone help !!

    an icon called "access members area" keeps appearing on my desktop, I delete it and within 30 seconds its back again, my hubby who's knows a lot about pc's can't get to the bottom of this, can anyone help ? this has been going on for about 3 weeks now !! I just want to get it sorted so I can stick my tongue out at him and say I FIXED the problem (with a little help) but does he need to know that...........lol

    Sounds like you've been pegged. Are you running an antivirus program and are you beind a firewall? If so, are they upated?

    For a start, I'd download SpyBot, install it and run it, see if that takes care of the problem. If that fails, get HiJack and post the log here, someone will be able to tell you where you've got a problem and give you some help to resolve it.

    yes we are running a antivirus programe, have already ran spybot also a few others, but it still keeps popping up !!!

    I have already got hijack on the pc, but to be honest would not know the first thing to do there !!

    Another free program that has been working good for me is A2: http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/ . I've had it fix problems that other programs couldn't find.
