Default Office 2003 to 2007 question

I have office 2003 and want to know if I install office 2007 if it will keep all my settings. Especially email contacts in outlook. I still need to be able to save things in the older format for exchanging files with other people.

what you should do is a manual backup of your contacts, office is supposed to upgrade but I wouldn't trust it.

with the manual backup, you can always roll it back if something goes wrong

When I installed office 2k7 over the top of 2k3, I did as Kheldar suggested and backed up my data, which is good practice for any upgrade where sensitive or important data is concerned, but it installed fine and kept some of the settings, it didn't keep them all because there are a large number of changes in the new office, but it did keep all of my contacts details and all my emails in outlook. All in all I was very happy with the install process and the package in the end
    BRING IT ON!!!!
