Hey guys, was just wondering how i run scandisk on my HDD in XP? I am used to just being able to click on run, and then type scandisk but this doesn't work. Anyone know how to do it? Thx for any info.

    My Computer
Right click the drive you want to scan
    Properties
    "Tools" tab
    Error-checking

I'm not sure of the file name, but this will let you take care of business, and will also allow you to defrag the drive and do a back-up as well.

There is no scandisk in the NT kernel based OSes. when you do an error check it actually runs CHKDSK /F or CHKDSK

I'm not 100 sure which.. I do know /F is supposed to try to fix any errors it finds..

If in doubt, just punch in chkdsk /? for all the switches and their uses.
