Default I want to add more memory to win xp pro

I'm running 2 gigs of memory with win xp pro, and I've heard that windows will not recognize any more then 3 gigs. Is this true? And, If I install 2 more gigs and windows only recognizes 3 gigs, is the fourth gig a waste? Or will windows use it? Thanks

32 bit Windows only sees ~3.5GB, no it will not be used.

    Terabyte too btw

Any 32-bit OS with more than 2GB is a waste. That is a fact.
