    Default Shutting down windows XP-sp2

    I have just done a install on a clean HDD that i have just bought for my re-build , but it seems to take ages to shut down as anyone any ideas has to why .

    Any time you have issues with booting or shutdown, your first step should be to go ahead and run both antivirus checks and malware. Even on a new build, it is possible to have visited (even by accident) a poisoned website that has loaded some ugly programs in the background.

    maybe you hibernate not shutting down? Or maybe your pc doesn't like you my sometimes doing weird things ... without a reason. Of course first check for malware, viruses and other stuff.
