    Default help problem with boot disks?

    Hi
    I want to reformat my drive. ihave done it in the past using the 5 windows xp boot disks,

    but now when i went to start my computer from the floppy it says the floppy is a track 40? and it wont work?

    whats going on?

    do i have to turn my pc off completely then turn it back on with the floppy disk in? all i did was restart it is that the problem?

    Do you not have a CD Rom and a Windows XP disk? Why format with a floppy drive?

    my xp cd isnt bootable. at any rate i dug out my old floppy drive and succeeded to format with no problems, now everything is running fine again. i guess my floppy died
