If you install Windows XP and then immediately install SP1, how do you stop Windows Messenger from starting up every time you open outlook express or go to hotmail? I tried editing the sysoc.inf, but you can't really uninstall it and it'll still come back. In the access section I made it so that access to Windows Messenger was disabled, yet it still comes up.

well first off you removed it from the start up tab in msconfig?

not only that but bring up the options in outlook express. Right there on the general tab there is an option "automatically log on to msn messenger" unclick that hit ok and your good to go. I didn't mess with the sysoc file because its like barely 2 meg and if I ever need to use it that 2 meg on my 41gig hard drive is not exactly a waste of space.
