Prior to installing SP1 on my XP Home edition, I cleaned my drive, ran Norton Disk Doctot and defragged and closed everything.
    I installed SP1.
When I open up Control Panel/install, uninstall programs after the upgrade, I get a "value creation failed at line 472" error message. It will open.
I performed a System Restore to get rid if SP1. My "Connect To" options are gone and I can not connect to the internet.
I ran "Go Back and finally got out of this mess.
I redownloaded SP1 (directly from MS this time). The file seemed the same.
I started over. I have SP1 installed and am still getting "value creation failed at line 472" error message when I try to open up Control Panel/Uninsrtall Programs.
"Go Back" will now not go back far enough to get me out of this problem (System Restore again left me without an internet connection).
    Help!!

Is your XP corp version with fck serial no
If you truly love something, set it free. If it returns then it is yours.
If it doesn't then hunt it down and kill it!

I'm not sure what that last reply meant "Is your XP corp. version with fck serial no".
I have the Home Addition; fck is not part on my activation code. If that some king of a childish joke?

Hi, Have you tried uninstalling the SP1 as that should bring you back to where you were before.

Or how about restoring it to a date previous to the patch.

    Paying for the license. LOL

Format and start from scratch again

Without SP1 it might be best to have a firewall installed.

You can still use XP without the SP1.

Go to http://kickme.to/trwxp where I believe there is a fix for your problem.

Search the forum as I found this on another thread.

    Peace Mal
