    Default can't install Window 7

hello, I am new to this forum, so I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this...
I was considering posting this under the GIGABYTE forum, but I won't double post, unless told to.

I am building a new computer, using all new hardware.

POST works with original BIOS settings.

When I begin installing Windows 7 it can not recognize the hard drive. The HDD shows up in the BIOS. It is a new 500GB SATA drive made by Seagate. The BIOS settings for integrated peripherals are:
    OnChip SATA Controller - enabled
OnChip SATA Type - Native IDE

Ubuntu 10.04 was able to install just fine on the same system.

Does this seem like a Windows 7 problem? Or a motherboard issue?
