    ...not able to use theme's in xp after installing sp1? First go to your "C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386" directory and rename the uxtheme.dll file to .bak or .off or something. Then do the same for the copy's of that file in windows\system32\dllchache and windows\system32. Or you can just delete the one in system32. Ignore or click OK or whatever for any warnings that come up about protected files. D/L the attatched .txt file and rename it to an .rar extension. Extract it to windows\system32 and reboot and you should then be able to use themes just fine.

    now there's an easier way, just install the lastest stylexp v1.01L from tgtsoft

    Yeah, that's easier but is that program as retarded as Window Blinds? That one requires it to be running in the tray sucking up memory...does Style XP?

    Yes I agree I use the uxtheme.dll for mmmmmm 1089 I think it is lol in my sp1 I just did what we always did was rename and safe mode and replace bla bla done this for all the sp1's

    Yeah seriously why run an unecessary prog when the effort of maybe 5 minutes of file renaming will net you the same results?
