I updated my computer with the SP1 and ****ed up totaly my computer with the English version of XP. So, I did a fresh reinstall with my Norwegian version of XP. Then, when going to the update pages of WinXP, I cannot find the SP1 update no more. Is it not available for any other languages than English?
I also have encountered on several sites the need for a java addition, or Virtual Machine as it says. When hitting the download button I'm always taken to the Update pages wich says that VM is only available trough ths SP1. IS thsi so, or coud I get this java update elsewhere? I need it for my netbank and others..

The SP1 pack is only available in limited languages so far, but I believe that Microsoft is planning on expanding it to all languages that WindowsXP supports.

That said, I'd personally wouldn't bother. The SP is plagued with bugs and seems to be more trouble than the effort of installing is worth. I dumped mine the day after I updated. :(

As for the Virtual Machine, I was able to download it separately from the service pack. It is listed on the "Recommended Updates" page of WindowsUpdate and not under the Critical Updates.

You can download the Java Virtual Machine directly off the Sun Microsystems website.

Suns VM is annoying though, everytime a webpage uses and Java VM stuff it opens a Java icon in your system try that doesnt go away untill all your internet explorer windows are closed

Hmm... sounds like I did a good thing by installing it earlier then. :)

True, but for those who have a freshly formatted computer, there arent too many options.

[Edit] Found a site that offers the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine for download.
