There are several utilities out that will fix it in Pre-SP1 systems.

Thought you said you took down the link..... I can still download it.

In any event, I'm a mod at Sharkyforums so I know how strict Sharky's is about piracy and quasi-legal software(keygens), so I was wondering how Tweaktown was able to host something like that.

Do what I have done....an original, real, owned copy of win98 with the latest direct X....as stable as XP for games and no hassles......don't forget, hardware has improved in stability as much as directX and hence the os is more stable.....any you-beaut-yippy-net-stuff I do via linux...which is where I spend most of the time anyway......why struggle with the legal behemoth????? abandon them....its the only way they will produce reasonably priced software or software that is reasonably functional without all the bloody patching.....

Need to change your Product Key in WinXP, but can't find the key changer. Not a problem, here's how to do it yourself!

    1. Run regedit and go to:

    HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrentVersion\WPAEvents,
on the right double click on "oobetimer"and change at least one digit of this value to deactivate windows.

    2. Choose run from start menu and type in this command:
%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a to get the activation screen and go to the second option which is activate by phone.

    3. In the new screen choose the option to change product key, and type in the new product key (Enter a Corporate key only!!!)

    4. Close that window, reboot your system and enter the command in step 2 for the second time to verify your activation , you should see "windows is already activated".

Need a Corporate Product Key? Look at the screen shot of XPProCorp-keyChanger.exe at:
    http://www.tweaktown.com/document.ph...Id=350&dPage=3
The image is clear enough that you should be able to get a few different keys to use.

I used this method on my computer and have been running for 3 weeks with SP1 and no problems yet.

    Happy Hacking,

How am I supposed to go about this process without a Corporate copy of Windows? Cuz i haven't been able to change the key with a corporate key on Windows XP Professional, only with a XP Professional key. But there must be a way to do it witha Professional Key, right? All I want to do is activate it, is the only fix for Corporate versions??

    thx,
