Go into your bios setup, under "advanced" and set the 1st boot device to "cd rom". Save changes, exit, reboot.

    Thanks BIG,

I have that already set but when my system is going through POST, the "searching for bootable ....." comes up then switches to "READ disk error, etc... please reboot..."

    Puzzling :?:

Does the bios recognize the cd drive? Is the cd good? Did this cd work before?

The CD will boot from within a windows setting but not from the cd-rom when being initialized. Yes the CD-rom is recognized from within the BIOS and is working perfectly. My guess is that the CD boot .inf file is corrupt or is being overlooked upon boot. I am going to try to recreate the cd on another cd and see if the .inf file is the culprit. Yes, I know.....backup of XP. This is my copy though.
