I've just read the guide; Windows XP SP1 Updating Tips n Tricks..

I've done the same thing, but with another key generator and Microsofts own turtorial for changing keys.

SP1 is installed, but my current key is probably not legal (paid for). I've heard some rumors that Windows Update have a database with all legal keys.. if my key isn't there, I will get problems. Is this correct? Which kind of problems?

A legal key would have been the best solution, but then I have to buy the damn thing or get a legal key in one way or another. Hmm.. anyway. I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to write this, but the guide refered to in line one isn't so much more legal..

    BTW, I'm from Norway..

Instead of making a new post I was wondering the same thing. What exactley is going to happpen if this is all true. And another question I have is what if my friend has a gateway cpu and it came with win xp home pre loaded but he has a disc in a package of winxp with a legit cd-key. Could I use that without having anymore problems with all this legal issue junk that is going on?

run the bluelist keygen till you get a 640 key code, it is a full working m/soft compatable code.
we don't always get what we want,
    or, want what we get!

If it makes you feel any better - so far - only one key has been proven to be blacklisted and that is the orginal and most widely spread version of WindowsXp Pro (devils own, the FCK..)

And this is probably becouse that key is used by at least hundreds of thousands if not millions of users.

So with any other pirated key your safe, for now.

No one can say anything about the future. I am sure this was just a start.

MS has already announced a follow up XP OS version to be released late 2003 or early 2004 so expect more troubles in the future.
