When connected to my network with WinXP I want to be able able to go to the Local Area Connection Status in the systray and see Bytes sent and received instead of Packets sent and received(which is currently what it's showing me). Where can I go to change this??

Mine shows bytes, and its has been this way by default.
This doesnt really help you, but at least you know that it can be done.....somehow.

if it's the same as 2K (i'll check when I get home) then if you go into your network settings there should be a little tick box at the bottom, underneath where you set all your different protocols... I'll check it out.

Well I didn't find any ideas on how to change the Local Area Connection Status so I found a nice little utility off a website. It's freeware. It puts an icon very similar to the LAN connection icon in the systray. When opened it displays alot more info though. You can see upload and download current speeds, max speed, avg speed, and total sent and received. It also has a graph to visually represent the speed and amount of data being transferred in and out. Exactly what I wanted. :D

:p Thought I'd make you ask first... hehe

The Utility is called Lanspeed2. It works on all Windows versions.

Go here > http://httpd.chello.nl/~m.vanosta/orcasoft/ and look for Lanspeed version 2.0.5
