i'm running memtest 86 4.0 now and i don't see where i can get the Ram, CAS, and Channel settings. i installed the windows updates also. i'll let this run for now since i'm going out. so far no errors with 2 sticks of ram in slots 1 & 3

Memtest 86 finished with no errors! now i need to run it with all 4 sticks. Microsoft signed in and moved the pagefile and something else. not really sure what that did.
the memory i have is Crucial CT2566aa1067. 2gb2rx8 pc2-8500u-777-13. i have no idea where cas and channel settings are

    Update:
    Ram are labeled A1-2 & B1-2
Here's the results of Memtest 86:
    B1 and B2 in slots 2 & 4 and ran Memtest - no errors,
A1 in slot 1 and A2 in slot 3 and got 2654 errors,
All ram removed and put A1 in slot 2 and A2 in slot 4 - no errors,
    A1 in slot 1 B1 in slot 2 and A2 in slot 3 - 6400 errors
    A1 in slot 1, A2 in slot 3 and B1 in slot 4 - 306,944 errors.
Slots 1 & 3 seem to be in error state.

In post #43, the 8th line from the top in the screen-shot shows the information.
I requested this information before I knew that you had windows installed.

You can provide more detailed info by following step4 in http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post295784, post #5, and ignore the EasyTune6 program as it won't run with P35 systems. Place the Memset, cpu-z and CoreTemp windows close together, and then crop the unneeded remaining area of the screen. The information in the cropped picture will be more readable when you don't post the picture of the complete screen.

Also be sure to post your current bios settings.
Glad to see that you're making progress.

it looks like memory slots 1 & 3 are shot. i'm concerned at how long the other 2 will last. it might be time for an upgrade. i will run those tests just to stay up on what to do. right now windows is up and stable. i copied large folders again just to make it fail and it held up.

Before adding or removing and hardware, ALWAYS turn off your PC and then turn off the power supply using the on/off rocker switch on the back of the psu.
Make sure that all four memory slots are free of dust and dirt.
Use compressed air to thoroughly clean all four memory slots.

Install one memory kit in slots 2 & 4 and boot into windows.
Post a screen-shot identical to the attached picture that includes:
    • CPU-Z - run 4 instances that include the following windows: CPU, Mainboard, Memory and SPD
    • CPUID Hardware Monitor
    • CoreTemp

Crop the unneeded portion of the screen.

    Download from:
    CPUID - CPU-Z
    CPUID - Hardware Monitor
    Core Temp

It's possible that your psu is failing.
You still haven't posted your current bios settings.

Create your complete bios settings in a TXT file.
When done, select all and then use the COPY function.
You can then paste all of the information at one time into the forum's advanced posting area.
This is how I posted your bios settings earlier in the thread.

I'll provide you with some manual bios settings after you post the requested screen-shot in post #54.
This will be to see if your system can be stable using memory slots 1 & 3.
If your memory is stable with the manual settings in slots 1 & 3, I'll provide additional settings to see if your system is stable using all 4 memory slots.

If needed, can you borrow another power supply to test with?
