Kind of surprising anyone is keeping track anymore......

Yeah, I'm glad I run a linux box but I still have my share of patches and updates....maybe not as glaringly obvious cause everyone luvs to hate M$ but they come every couple of days....just something we have to live with....just keep the firewall rules tight and hope......

Never relaxed here but over the last 3 weeks I've noticed that the hits against it have suddenly increased from around 20 a day to around 300+ which is frightenin'.

I sorta made my own firewall with some iptables scripts...some downloaded...some of my own and a bloody lot of testing....I think I got it right (no breaches at any of the scan sites) and I set the normal linux security pretty high which checks on system files every day just to be sure..... Although I absolutely hate the idea of M$ Paladium it may in the end be the only way to ensure a modicum of security for the average joe sixpack.....

Run your firewall against the site http://www.pcflank.com ...it really pushes it plus there is some free stuff there like trojan removers etc......

    stay well

I'd try it but like many others it can't even determin my propper ip and has no way for me to enter it (gets as far as the Optus server 2 towns away).
