Thread: Back Door Assassin

    I'm in need of help. Back Door Assassin has latched onto my "ms spool.exe" file and I have had to quarintine the file. Can anybody tell me what effect this will have on ny computer? The file is in Windows/system. Please help.

    Yikes!
    This is a nasty bugger, it gives another party access to your computer - hence the term backdoor.
    From your description of the problem it looks like you identified the bandit very well. Excellent first step!!!

    If this backdoor successfully installs it disables a lot of files (a huge list actually that you can view at the link above). Fortunately the removal instructions are pretty straightforward and don't require you to jump through hoops like some of the nasties out there.
