    The status of my LAN connection says enabled with firewall.
    If I want to turn of the firewall, I should go to the advanced tab located at the properties of LAN connection.
    But the advanced tab is somehow gone.
    Can anybody help me:confused:
    BTW I have Windows XP with SP1 Installed.

    not 100% sure but i would guess if you disable the "Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) / Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" service then that tab isnt available. but then the status should say its off.

    check if that service is enabled or not.

    try disabling the service if its on and see what yer satus says then.

    do this;

    - click on control panel
    - double click on network connections
    - scroll down to properties
    - advanced

    you should see something like the attached image. uncheck firewall.
