    Dear All,
    I have one query to solve:
    When I reboot my Pc I notest there is on the bios inormation that sencence: S.M.A.R.T FUNCTION ENABLE BUT DISABLED can anyone out there tell me what is mean?? This function if ENABLE can improve speed of computer? or not?

    I have a 40gb hard disk ,Matsonic 8308 motherboard, 1800xp Athlon xp cpu .

    It doesn't speed anything up (may slow it a small fraction though) but it allows the BIOS to report the condition of your hard drive via sensors in the drive and warns you (hopefully) of impending danger with the hard drive before things get critical. This can be enabled in BIOS but varies from manufacturer to manufacturer as to where in the BIOS it can be found but ya motherboard manual will. ;)
