Whenever you view a new folder using My Computer or Windows Explorer, the default layout is "Tiles" mode. I much prefer viewing folders in "Detail" mode though.
Is there any way to make XP display folders in Detail mode all the time, as opposed to only when you've selected Detail for that particular folder? It's annoying to have to switch every new folder to "Details", especially when you are trying to look through a lot of new files and folders.

    Thanks,
    Rob

Choose a folder and make it look the way you want it to. Then do this...

Tools --> Folder Options --> "View" Tab --> Click "Apply to all Folders"

    Done. :)
