Thread: how to convert NTFS to FAT32????

    does someone know how to convert a hdd set on NTFS to FAT32??????

    i cant find it anywhere :(

    please help me!

    You can format.
    Are you using WinXP ? It has it built in.

    yes i am using XP Pro...

    but the problem is i dont want to format...
    i saw on the net how to change FAT32
    to NTFS but now i want to change it back.
    do you know how to do that ?!

    this is the way to change it to NTFS :

    Convert D: /FS:FAT32

    do you know how to change it back to FAT32?

    IMAO, I don't think you can without a format ?!
    Anyone else know if this is possible ?

    well i seem 2 rem ber that once u got a H/D using NTFS u can't convert it back 2 FAT32 ..........apart from burning u info of and then a format

    That's why I always have at least 2 HD's. I just transfer files for my usual 6 month format. No wasting of CD's...

    areeeeeee u might b able 2 help then , i just sorted a RADI set up .........( im like u a reformat and install about 6 ish months ) but could i move the files over 2 the RAID and still b able 2 acess them after a xp install ........or would i have 2 build another array ?? might b silly Q but my 1st RADI set up ;)

    ( sorry 4 going 4 topic ) ;)

    Once your partition is converted/created, you cannot go back to the inferior filesystem. Your only option is to reformat your partition to fat32, or enjoy your current ntfs benefits.

    actually, partition magic can do it.
