Thread: Cannot Delete CD-R temp files in XP

If I've missed the answer to this question anywhere on the site, please point me in the right direction. Otherwise here's my problem... I am running windows xp pro on a Pentium 3 800MhZ Sony Vaio laptop. Whenever I use XP/Windows Explorer's built in cd burning utilities, the CD burns properly but when the system tries to erase the temporary files used to burn the CD, it comes up with an error saying the files are in use by another program. The only way to delete the files is to restart the computer and delete them manually. Any suggestions on how to alleviate this problem?

Don't use the Windows burning method...I assume Windows is simply not finalising the burn properly and thus says the files are in use.

Best thing to do is get Nero Burning ROM, because believe me if you have a CD burner you're wasting a lot of its speed and potential by using the Windows built-in burning crap.

Try the demo version of Nero and if you like it, keep it!
