    Hi Guys,

Another question, my wife has recently been downloading video clips, avi, mpeg, divx etc and plays them through windows media player. All of the video images play fine, but some of them have no sound.

Is this because I need to find some new codex for windows media player ?. Media player says its looking for new codex files .. finds them but still no sound.

If this is the case any suggestions as to where I can find them would be great.

    Thanks in advance

BTW have the same issue in playing the files in quicktime, real player and divx player.

Some video comes with no sound, some video poorly encoded and thus has issues with the popular players, some video formats are just supported by one or two players. Your problems could be one or more of the above.

In general the best way to update codecs is to allow the program to search for the applicable one and update it itself online. If the updated codec doesn't resolve your problems then it's likely the video needs to be played on a specific player.

Anyway, first off try downloading the Nimo Codec Pack which is a popular compilation of codecs. See if that helps your situation.
