    Hi There,
    I have installed Windows XP,changed product code & installed SP1 pack.
    Now after about 3 weeks I have a message appear on desktop in right hand lower corner
    WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
    For Testing purposes only.Build 2600 Xpsp1.020828-1920(Service Pack1).Cannot find what/how caused this?:shoot3:
    has this happened to anyone else??

    by any chance did u recently install any software like BootXP or styleXP or anything like that which tweaks with the looks of ur XP...?

    yeah,
    i had been running customizerXP for a while then changed to powertweak but I had also installed Plus! then added more themes ,can't remember which prog I used but yes similar to stylexp,could have been chameleon.

    How to remove the showing word on the right of bottom of desktop screen on Windows 2000/XP
    "Windows XP Professional. For testing purposes only. Build 2600"
    "Windows 2000 Professional. For testing purposes only. Build 2195"

    For Windows 2000/XP

    1. Using Regedit then remove these 2 keys (2 Directoryes of it.)
    By Start ==> Run... ==> Open : regedit ==> OK
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertif icates\CA\Certificates\FEE449EE0E3965A5246F000E87F DE2A065FD89D4

    2. Reboot your Winodows 2000/XP

    Best way to avoid these messages is to run a legit copy of WinXP. Hint Hint....

    My copy of XP came preinstalled on my Toshiba Laptop. The cure I just posted is not mine, but one I found in quest to rid my desktop of XP's tagging. Unless Toshiba is bundling pirated copies of XP, it's not because of a licensing issue.
