What is the known pros with it? My comp runs great without it
but maybe it would be even better with sp1, like faster within windows or games... hmm :?:

Ok, i'll do that. And then maybe try it out the next reinstall.

Btw Wiggo, how often do you reinstall your os on an everyday use machine?

Do you wait until you actually notice any probs or what?

Again, SP1 is just the sum of all the important Windows XP updates which were released by Microsoft between when XP came out (late 2001) and when SP1 came out (late 2002). It also has a feature which allows you to turn off/uninstall certain built-in Windows components - as ordered by US courts Ė such as MS Messenger. It will not necessarily speed up or slow down Windows..itís not a performance tweak. If youíve installed all the critical and major updates for XP through Windows Update then you pretty much have XP SP1 installed on your system, so I donít see why there is so much hoo-hah and mystery around SP1.

Now here's someone who listens and remembers the reason why. :thumb:

Someone like PersianI probably keeps a very lean os setup so SP1 won't be a problem there but most others don't and this is a very good source of income to me so even stop readin' the tweak guides as I need more money. :D
