    Dear AsianImmortal,

thanks for the excellent XP guide.

I followed it, but have found that I can't transfer anything onto CD!

    I recieve the message:

"There is no disk in the drive"

BUT there is a disk in the drive!

The computer manages to read the contents on the disk fine, but I get the above problem when I try to burn.

Your help would be grately appreciated.

    Regards,

    Gordon

    PS nice UT2003 tweak guide!!

Uh thanks, but the name is PersianImmortal.

What software are you using to burn to CD? I hope it's not the builtin XP burning, because if you followed my guides I turn that service off.

Try using Nero to start with, and give me any more details of things you've done recently which may impact on this.

    Sorry about the name confusion.

I'm not clear what Nero is.

I just wiped my hard drive and followed your guide; that's the state of play with my machine.

If you’ve followed my guide then you’ve turned off CD Burning in XP (which is good). Now you can download Nero from here. This is a trial version however so it only works for a certain period before purchase is necessary.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to buy burning software, or don’t have one which came with your burner, you can reenable XP built-in burning by going back over my guide and looking for the “disable XP burning” tweaks and reversing them.
